With an unparalleled number of successful mobile rich media campaigns behind us, we’ve had the opportunity to experience first-hand the challenges of rich media advertising. What’s clear is that it’s not just rich or mobile that creates complexity but rather some of the processes around digital advertising in general – from cross-functional team communication, to asset management and version control, to logging key performance indicators – that slow things down.

We created Medialets Muse™ to address this challenge: to facilitate accurate planning, provide clear visibility into each phase of creation and development, and manage the approval process.

In this new blog series, we’ll share insight on how Medialets Muse makes it easier to scale rich media campaigns for mobile.

1. The First Key to Rich Media Success: Planning ahead with Muse
Executing a successful mobile rich media campaign can be a smooth and seamless process when all stakeholders know what to expect and can plan for every stage. Medialets Campagin Manager, a core component of Muse, provides a timeline features, much like a project management tool, to keep everyone on the same page.

A. Set the timeline based on simple or complex ad build
Not every campaign has the same level of complexity, therefore, timelines can vary based what is needed to develop an ad. A campaign timeline is first established to fit an assigned level of difficulty of development. This provides flexibility and a more accurate projection of when deliverables are needed and how much time it will take for each phase.

B. Get a bird’s eye view of the process
When all of the variables and set deadline goals are determined, the advertiser can view (and modify) the entire timeline from kickoff to a completed ad. Campaign Manager provides a visual, interactive timeline that is customized to specific needs and levels of difficulty of development for each unique campaign. From an agency perspective, having early visibility into all phases of development can help manage time and resources to ensure that the campaign launches on time and on budget.

C. Know who’s accountable and what’s going on
Often times, lines of responsibility can get blurry and the process can be delayed without clearly established roles set upfront.

Roles can be set up through Medialets Campaign Manager and are automatically applied to the key stages of the process so that all stakeholders know who is accountable for the approval or deliverable needed to move forward.

Additionally, all comments, approvals, date changes and all files added to the Asset Drawer are stored so that all parties have a record of what happened, when. This visibility into everything that is going on during the course of the development process can mitigate roadblocks that typically stand in the way of a timely launch.

D. Manage revisions and get approvals
Since mobile ads are best tested on a mobile device (to see exactly how they will function), getting the ads in the hands of clients to approve can be tricky and time-consuming if the right tools are not available.

The Showcase App provides an advertiser with an easy way to instantly deliver an ad to a device for feedback and approvals. With this tool now available to anyone with an iOS device, waiting for testing and getting revisions in front of clients is no longer an issue.

By taking the complexity out of mobile rich media advertising, Muse makes it easier to include mobile in every media buy. There’s more to learn; stay tuned for more insight on Medialets Muse™ or contact us to get started.
