Medialets Universal SDK 2.6.3 for iOS Released

Our Newest Medialets Universal SDK for iOS has been released today.

Our latest iOS release removes all references to UDID in the SDK. We have recently received information that Apple may now be rejecting submissions to the App Store containing any code that references the UDID property on device. While Medialets does not store or send UDID, previously, we did reference it in an algorithm which generated our own unique identifiers. (Note: these unique identifiers cannot be reversed to identify the UDID.)

In addition, our latest iOS release offers the following resolutions:

  • Resolved an issue where third party web views were unable to load Medialets’ MRAID implementation via loadHTMLString:baseURL: when baseURL was nil.
  • Resolved an issue where legacy video API failed to play videos from relative URLs.
  • Removed legacy code playMovie in order to remove a potential conflict with Apple’s private API.
  • Is compiled against iOS 5.1 SDK.

Note:

Responding to Apple’s App Store rejections of apps which used iAds and Medialets’ dismissAd method, we recommend that calls to dismissAd be replaced to call dismissAdAnimated: regardless of which version of our SDK you are implementing. For an example, see: Why Apps with iAds which Use dismissAds are Rejected
